VERY RARE - Brand new Traction hand grips for sale, in original box, never installed

Part number 55959-02Y. Traction hand grips for all 1996 and later models (except 1996 S2 - T). These are brand new original parts in box, never used or installed. Very rare and hard to find, hence I bought them as an investment and paid WAY more for them than their original list price even years ago. I planned to put them on my Firebolt, but due to my aftermarket cruise control system, they would have to be modified to install them, essentially destroying their original condition, and that just would have been a shame to me. I would rather see them used by someone else that would retain their originality. Grab them while you can (pun intended).

Oh, we know what they are. Just giving you a hard time is all. They're not worth more than the original retail to me ($40 for the pair? Maybe, on a good day?) so I'm just here for the post count and bump the thread. I personally prefer the stock thin style grips. I've had a couple of XB's with the traction grips and didn't really care for them at all.

The rubber on that grips is 13 years old. They are almost trashed by age.

I put the grips as available on here first sincerely thinking I would give one of my brothers (maybe even the guy who sold them to me) a shot before I offered them to the rest of the open public, honestly in the spirit of being a help and keeping it in the family. What is the thanks you guys give me - a load of flak. So I went ahead and listed them on eBay. In less than an hour they sold for a significant amount above what I paid for them, the buyer paid for them, and I shipped them out Priority Mail. Thanks anyway. Considering further diversification of my portfolio as I get the last laugh.

Since they only made "X" number of them too - I do not assume to give you a lesson in economics, but what controls price is what the market will bear for something that is seen as desirable and is nearly impossible to find - if it (like the Traction hand grips) also is brand new, in the crate, never ridden ... top dollar will be yours of course. Aside from that, my advice to you is, hold on to it, you will get that for it someday. As for me, my XB is a lifetime keeper - not ever selling it.

I bought mine about 8 years ago and finally installed them, they are nothing to write home about other than they are hard to find now for a decent price. I actually prefer the stock grips.

I only offered that because I knew he wouldn't take it, and that maybe he would realize his price was $100 more than they sell for.

I actually like the traction grips, I have these stupid Hulk hands that hate the stock smooth pencil grips.

I got a set of Oxfords and 'Fat grips' to try out. For $32. For both pairs. Pretty happy, and I have $168 left to 'invest' in some beers later. The payoff is always good!
