I'm looking into buying an onboard camera system to mount on my bike. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these. I've seen kits available online, but have heard its cheaper to piece it out yourself. I'm looking for on that doesn't run on the bikes battery. I might want to use it on my downhill mountain bike runs as well. Anyone have a good one they can recommend? I saw one guy on here who made one himself. I seriously doubt I have the skills for that...but could figure some stuff out. I want it to look good...but don't really want to spend more that $300.

Also...where would you mount the microphone so you don't just hear the wind?

Hello mate.
Check these sites out...... i have the mountain gear cam and its not too bad...not Hollywood quality but good for what it does-- if you go to youtube and type in ATC@K camera there are some bike videos. The rubber attachment band for the helmet portion of the kit might be a little bit small as i think it is mainly for bicycle helmets.
The first website i remembered reading about on Badweatherbikers.

Hope this helps.
