Hey, I have an XB12R and am thinking of getting a 1125R in hopes that it can handle the heat better. Has ridden, or even better owned both that could tell me if the liquid cooling actually works properly? Thanks a ton.

The 1125R does get a little hot, but not nearly as hot as the XB. Why don't you try basic heat shielding on your XB first?

Wrapping the exhaust?

ceramic coated header, special ops heat blanket(or home made like I did) and right side scoop.

But that will all run the better half of $1,000. and from what I havve heard they help, but not a ton.

$160 for the header, $35 for the blanket, I'm not sure how much the scoop is. Maybe $300 max. Total $500.

But if you want an 1125R then go test ride it! It's scary fast! If you have the cash then go for it!

Oh, and after I got mine tuned, it ran cooler because it's not running as lean.

Well I'm having a weird issue with mine as well. And special ops aren't returning my calls [confused]

It is the begining of summer. Maybe they're on vacation

Dave thanks for the tips and specs. So has anyone owned both and noticed a difference in the heat? After all, this thread is really only revilement if the 1125 really does scorch the crotch less.

I did notice a difference after wrapping my header but to do it right you need to remove the whole thing so you can wrap it all the way to the O2 sensor port. A pain but worth it.

Someone on here had been riding a loaner 1125R for quite a while, coming off of an XB12R that was in the shop being worked on. Can't remember who it was right off hand, but they would have some real world input.

i had an xb12 before i got my 1125R...there is a considerable difference that i can feel in the seat area. but you still get some noticeable heat on your right leg on a hot day in traffic but its bearable

Had an XB12 last year and picked up an 1125 last week. Been in the 80's here and it throws off a lot less heat than the XB12. Handles like a dream and hauls serious a$$!

I fix the heat down here in Denver by getting as high as I can. 90ish in denver yesterday.

45-50 up here (Mt Evans). Got a little chilly. :)
