My exhaust valve module is bad on a 2007 xb12r. I want to wire it open. How can I bypass the check engine light for this problem only. That way the light will be out unless there is another system problem.

I take it your current module (servo) is causing a check engine light. If so you can get a servo emulator from americansportbike.com.

Easiest/Cheapest way is to use ECMSpy. Check the Off checkbox under the "Active Muffler Control"...burn...and you're done.

You'll need a cable. Xoptiinside.com still sells them cheaper than anywhere....$45 shipped I believe? Well worth the investment for doing own diagnostics, TPS resets, troubleshooting, etc. (The ASB emulators have an "iffy" history of success.)

Will shutting off the active muffler control work for my 2006? I have tried the spark plugs, crankcase reroute, reset the TPS, but the bike still studders. I bought a used Interactive Exhaust Valve and replaced the original, but that didn't seem to work (initially I thought it did, but the studder is back). I did clear the exhaust fault code when I replace the IEV so maybe that helped for a few minutes.
