Ordered new keys from dealer and they dont work. Ignition must have been changed since I am not original owner and I don't have a number to contact original owner to find out. So I am thinking I have to order new ignition, gas cap, and trunk release. My other option is to use toggle switches for ignition and lights and such and somehow rig up the gas cap and trunk release. I am being cheap and dont want to buy all new parts so if anyone has any ideas please do share. P.S. I don't know where I lost them if i did they wouldn't be lost.

Why not contact a lock smith? Sounds like the most cost effective idea to me!

Seriously where are you located, because this happened to a friend of mine, and a locksmith was able to make him a new set of keys for his ignition; I'll find one for you if you'd like.

Ok so in order for the locksmith to know whether or not they can service your bike, they'd need the VIN number. I'm not sure if you are comfortable giving it out, but if you want some help from me, I'd need to know it. If you'd like to e-mail it to me you can at acsackman@yahoo.com

Ok, so I just got off of the phone with a few different locksmiths and was told that you basically have two options.

First option would require you to remove your ignition switch and bring in to the locksmith. Basically because Buell's are so new to these guys, they don't have key blanks for them yet; he'd have to order one. The guy I spoke to stated that if you brought in your switch he'd take a look at it and price out your quote for free, but he needs to physically have it in his hands. The guy I spoke to was at the following company; very nice, and very knowledgeable:

Weller Lock & Key Services
1502 Wood St
Scranton, PA 18508-1887
(570) 346-3398‎

Your second; and most obvious option would be to replace everything as you've stated.

It honestly comes down to cost at this point. The locksmith I talked to said it might be anywhere from $60-$150, it just depends on the amount of work that would have to be done! Do you know the cost involved to replace everything? Hopefully this info helps!

Well the cost to replace just the keys and ignition is roughly $120 so the $60-$150 would be alot cheaper and less work since i would have to fig out a way to get the gas cap off. My ignition is currently at a local locksmith since about 11 am. I do appreciate your help, now I know a rough price range incase he try's to run the price up on me.
