If this is still around in a few weeks I will pick it up, any chance I could put a deposit on it. I got rent and 1st of the month bills due.

Will this work on an 2009 xb12ss? If so, I'll buy it. Bartels harley said they would gladly dyno tune my bike but I need the race ecm. I've been getting mixed messages on wither this is the right part.
thanks

???? I would just ask Bartels Harley, if they know how to tune it they better know what can be tuned.

I would think if they can tune they can most likely tweak anything that may need to be.

I say call them and ask, then get back to me. Otherwise I really dont know.

No that wont work. Bartels Harley sounds like they have no idea what they are talking about. If they were going to tune it, it shouldn't matter what ECM you have. Also, you have an 09, which has a different ECM than early 08 and lower.

Hey Dave I have read that the '08+ ECM are self learning is that true?

Or is it only to a certain point, then tuning is needed?

Also I agree as far as an ECM is an ECM so to need a Race ECM to tune I could only understand they may not be allowed to change factory setting thus needed an after market ECM for the bike.

All of our ECMs are self learning to a certain point. I'm not sure how the 08's are different. Maybe they actually scale the map instead of just changing the afv.

Either way, it's just meant to adjust for altitude and climate, not mods.

I'm not sure how the 08's are different. They allow the TPS reset to be done without software and they have a larger closed loop "learning" range.

Has anyone seen the procedure for the TPS reset on the 08? I actually got a cable & EcmSpy to do it. Tell me I didn't waste my money??

'08+ TPS Reset Procedure:

- Have the Run/Stop button set to Run.

- Turn the ignition key to the On position but do not crank or start the engine.

- Open the throttle fully to the stop and hold it there for one second.

- Close the throttle fully to the stop and hold it there for one second.

- Repeat the throttle open/close procedure a total of three times in succession.

- Turn the ignition key to Off/On
