is there a step by step write up on this somewhere? ive only seen pictures and really like the look of it.

The problem is, you have a lot of electrical stuff up there that is going to need a home. Normally, people put firebolt tails on lightnings, not lightning front ends on a firebolt. You may have to get a lightning wireing harness.

it is possible just reroute and put all the wiring and ecm under the seat

I wouldnt, your talking 30+ wires.
Used wiring harness's on ebay for less than $100.
Thats what i did. Then the swap isn't so bad.
If you need any help BryanXB12R just ask, i did the swap in October on my XB12R

Is there a difference between the 9 and 12 harness?
