Hey all, I took these sound clips from my friends 03 xb9s. The fuel pump seems extremely loud. I don't know if is due to age or it is failing. If you guys could listen and let me know what you think that would be great.

Key on (http://spymac.czarkahan.net/buell1.wav)

Running (http://spymac.czarkahan.net/buell2.wav)

Thanks!

Could you maybe do a clean recording without the mocking bird chirping outside of the garage?

Sounds like your fan is running while once the key is in the on position?

The first sound is key on and the kill switch on, not started, with no fan running, that sound is all fuel pump. It was recorded with the mic near the frame.

RT: Just right click 'save as' and open with windows media player or sound recorder. It's a standard wav file. If you have a mac, ask Dave :)

That sound is not normal, too loud and pitch is high.
Did you check for error codes? Might want to see the dealer for a check on that.

That sounds like mine. I keep hearing on here that our bikes have all kinds of weird noise and that's just one of mine. One of these days I'm going to find a Buell technician (not harley) and have him do a once over on my bike. hmmm, where to look?
