got the opportunity to see my 03 xb9 slowly die. i was riding and looking in my rearview mirror and the buell's head light was a dim yellow. the rider said the the gauges stopped working 2 or 3 miles before the bike actually shut off.

replaced new battery 2months ago, have a random problem of the bike not starting after short/long rides, this could be a relay problem of sorts.

can't get a decent ride in on this thing w/out an issue. any suggestions/insight would be appreciated.

thx

Check this thread: Voltage Regulator Connector (http://www.buellxb.com/Buell-XB-Forum/Buell-Parts-Guy-Questions-and-Answers/Voltage-Regulator-Connector-Pre-08-XBs)

Like Strmvt, I'm betting this is your problem.

ran a voltage test on reg and the connector nothing of note to report.charged the battery again, replaced the starter relay, checked all fuses. my guess is i haven't fixed the problem.

thanks for the help, feel free to share other insight.
