View Full Version : releasing the clutch cable

all, attempting to change the stator,removed all primary bolts, pull the clutch inspection cvr and can't back out the screw to release the cable [cable is not attached to handle or frame]. any suggestions to break it loose.

Have you disconnected it from the handle first? That should give you enough slack to unhook it from the clutch adjuster under the cover. Once that is done then you will be able to unscrew to cable housing from the primary cover.

remove the cable before you loosen the cover.

untighten the adjustment screw, remove from handle, remove from clutch-arm and then remove primairy.
