Speedo Odo question

Does anybody know if the Odometer reading is stored in the ecm or in the gauge There is a gauge on ebay that I like the color/font scheme better than the one I have but I don't want the mileage to read different than it really is.

you can get custom plates for the original odo.

(or create one yourself)

Yeah I know but if the mileage is stored in the ecm then I would rather just replace everything so I don't have to tear into it. Unless I can see how a custom one turned out and how it was done.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Found out that the odo reading is stored in the gage. Custom is what I will have to do I guess.
