I'm trying to get my muffler off to begin stripping the engine but my pulley idler seems to be fused? I've removed the nut and washers but the damn thing is locked tight, any thoughts? I've put some penetrator solvent on there to sit before trying again, but I'm not hopeful at this point. She's a 2003 Firebolt with 40k miles under her belt.

I had the same problem with mine, take the belt off, penetrating oil over night, and a little coaxing with a rubber mallet on the mount and it'll pop right off.

A little bit of heat to go along with the penetrating oil may help out a bit too. Heat it up the Aluminum CAREFULLY with a propane torch, avoid heating the bolts, then give it a couple whacks from all directions with the aforementioned rubber mallet.

Remember, if all else fails, try a bigger hammer. :)

I found that a rubber mallet works good too.
