I just got off the phone with Jet Hot performance in AZ. They quoted coating the headers on a Buell at about 175 bucks plus shipping. They said that this coating will drop "shin" temps by 30-40%. Going to send the header from my truck in two weeks first since I have an intake air temperature readout and can get some qualitative numbers before the bike.

I think ASB has the same price and you can pay the core charge and he'll send you a header already coated. That way you have no down time, just send him your take off when you're done.

Turns out they don't ship to APO's so I have to wait until I get back to the states. Will probably do it conjunction with the warranty on the pipes. Mine are starting to rust and hoping to get them replaceds. The muffler is also rusting behind the rear mounting band and only behind it. Weird.

Highly recommend jet-hot. Had my pipes done and dropped header temps by about 70-100 degrees.

Jimmy,

Is it safe to assume that it cooled down the right leg?

How does coating compare to fabric header wrap, heat-wise?

Coating is supposed to be MUCH better. Espacially if they do the inside also!!! I just like the look of fabric wrap myself.

I don't know if the shipping makes it worthwhile for anyone South of the border, but my Micron is on its way to Kool Coat in BC. $120 coated inside and out. It might be worth a look!
