hi, I just bought an 09 1125r... I've always owned R1's until now but i couldn't say no to the deal i got (plus i love the sound of the twin for a change lol). i ordered a pipe and about to order a high flow air filter, will it run lean?? do i need to remap?? how do i go about this as my dealer mentioned something about needing a race licence. any help will be appreciated :)

First off, Welcome to the Forum and the madness. ;)[up] Throw up a couple pics if you get the chance.

About your questions:

Sticking either the pipe OR the intake starts testing the capabilitiees of the ECM. Putting both on Will have you running somewhat lean. There are a couple of good '09+ tuners out there: Ohio Sportbike (http://www.ohiosportbike.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=7&sid=c4c83aa47a63fb86f53f56a2788b506e) & JTS Performance (http://www.jtsperformance.com/). Also, might check with a Dealer who uses DirectLink - some of them are willing to custom tune. BTW, which Pipe did you get?

I bought a Jardine RT5 which sounds awesome and I am trying to get in touch with OSB to get myself a tune.

thanks heaps for your help, i got a jardine RT5 pipe.. yeah i'll try that, see if i can get a custom tune or something. the 1125R has opened my eyes to the V-twin world (as i've always owned jap bikes). lovin' the noise i'm making around town (even though some of my neighbours might have different opinions haha). thanks again 4 your help [up]
