I saw a used 08 1125R for sale at the Santa Barbara HD dealership.

Q. Did the problems experienced with the original 08s ever get fixed? Did the dealerships come up with fixes to eliminate the problems? Are they as good as the 09s?

normally for all 08's the dealership upgrade the eprom for free.

meaning that they reflash the ecm as a recall.

not reali sure but my buddy who works at the harley shop here in town told hed get an 09, cr or r, cuz the 08's still have bugs. i had my mind set on getn an 08 r, already had the paperwork on the way to sign, and he walked out the back and told me to get one of the crs they had which were 09s. he said the r is still a bad bike but an '08' will be in for work more often than a 09. hope this helps.

ji551c, I have an 08' 1125r and it has had it problems but all have been fixed and good as new! I have always been told not to buy a first year bike but I new what I was getting into and knew I would work out the bugs. I love the bike and would never sell it now, I'm going to buy another one soon. :D

Only problem I have had with my 08 1125R is the clutch fluid is beginning to show signs of seepage at the clutch cover on the case. I think there is a recall open for a wire tie on the front brake line...Not too bad for a first-year intro of an entirely new bike. It just sounds way, way different!
