Picked up a couple items today for the bike. Installed a cf tank protector, I had to cut it down a little for fitting purposes, looks good. Found some swingarm slider/spools at Cycle Gear. They are the Iron Horse brand. After reading about this upgrade, the stock ones are lame, I knew I had to find a brand with a stop on either side, unlike the stock spool. For some reason our threads are 6mm, the smallest offered. The spools clear the swingarm, barely on the left side, but the spool base is pretty big, I wish it matched the swingarm base better. Because of this I might return it for another model.

I installed a trikkle charger lead and also went ahead and installed my Gerbing heated gear hook up with reostat. After much looking, I finally positioned the reostat to stick out the little opening under the seat. That way I have easy access to the heat dial. I sent the lead that attaches to the jacket underneath the seat and theres enough room between the seat and frame to hide the wiring when not in use. After using heated gear on my Multistrada I got spoiled, you don't have to dress up like a gorilla to stay warm, its fantastic.

The heated gear reostat is completely out of the way, yet easy access to adjust while on the fly. Both leads for it and the trikkle charger are hidden when not in use. I had to cut the carbon tank protector down one section, otherwise it would have been too overwhelming. Didn't take a picture of the new swingarm spools, they work well but are just too large looking. However, they have a dual purpose as spools and sliders both (Steel Horse brand). I'll likely return them and pick up a pair of Motovation spools (6mm) from Motowheels.

Didn't take any photos of the Steel/Iron Horse 6mm swingarm spools, I'm going to return them because they are too large. I'll likely go with the Motovation spools sold by Motowheels. Steel Horse serve as both a spool and slider, hence the larger size I guess. The stock spools are worthless and weak, but at lease this year's bike (09) gives you the mount/threading for an upgrade.

I would sure like to loose the mirrors and even someday install some Brembo radial m/c, Rizoma reservoirs and levers like Pazzos.

How do you like the high bars? I have a set at the house but have not put them on yet.

Love them, helps the ergos alot. I wouldn't buy the bike without them.
