I just picked up my 1125cr, and decided to play with the ignition immobilizer function. I set it to ask, thinking that this would help prevent my roommate from taking it for a test ride.

We had an abnormally warm Saturday, so a buddy and I decided it was time to get a few break in miles on the new toy. We rode up the Mississippi river spur about 50 or so miles when we were stopped by a train crossing the road. Like a good motorcyclist I did not want to overheat the bike I shut it off…. Not thinking about the theft system that I had activated earlier. When the train had passed I turned the key to see the WONDERFULL enter pin prompt on my display, with ¼ mile of backed up traffic I pushed my bike to the side of the road. As I am punching in my pin, my buddy is joking about it spitting out an A.T.M. receipt.
All and All it was a good ride, made it to the half way point of the break in. I love my bike even being a 5’10 300lb rider it is comfortable to ride. More than enough power to pass on old two lane highways…. As long as you remember your pin.

:D

Thats classic. At least you remembered your code. I cant remember hardly any of my passwords or pins. [confused] I'd have been sitting there going 0,0,0,0; 0,0,0,1; etc. At least you dont mind a little humiliation. Welcome to the forum!!:p

Moosestang, the posts you've made previously were legit, what's up with the smart-alek post? You don't act like that on the other board.

Dude... I know this is a little off topic for the way this thread is going but, If you have your pin feature set to ASK it should NOT arm unless you punch in the pin when you shut the bike off....?

if you cycle your key forward before the pin timer has finished counting you need to neter your pin

Not if its set to ask.... When I program my bike with my osb programer I have to cycle the key after every change I make when I load it into the bike... never have to enter the pin... I set mine to ask the first week I got my bike and have only ever used the pin once, If you dont enter it when you shut the bike off you should never have to enter it to start it up.

However there is alot of variation between these bikes so yours may well be different than mine.
