Kia ora guy's, newby here from down south, Christchurch New Zealand. I have a 2001 X1 with 32,000 miles on the clock, it had 900 when I got it. Good to see there are a few about and still being ridden. I do have one little niggle that has just reared its ugly head...the oil warning light sparodicly comes on, usually at low revs or idiling, there is plenty of oil, I'm running Mobil 1 and have done for the last 3 oil changes with no problems. I'm thinking it may be the oil pressure switch/soleniod any other ideas guy's.
Cheers.

Could be the pressure switch or a weak oil pump. At idle is it ticking more then normal, thats a sign of a weak pump.

I have a 99x1 with also lots of miles.
I would measure the actual oil pressure ,if it is at low rev's it is either the switch or your oil pressure is low.
Are you using mobil 1 15w/50 or less.
I changed from Mobil 1 to semi synthetic because of high oil consumption

Kia Ora again, all sorted, chucked a new switch in and dumped the mobil 1 out for harley oil, problem solved.
Cheers fellas and fellesses.
