Saw an 05 12R with extended swingarm for $22,500. Seems dumb and looks a little dumb to me. It stops a Buell from being a carving cornering machine. What's does everyone think?

ramjr55,

First off the bike is way over priced and with straight pipes the bike probably runs choppy and has no low end (especially with the swing arm.)

And you being 6'7".... hmm the mght not be too fun for you.

Lastly: The wheels are ridiculously ugly. I like extended swing arms but the wheels kill it for me.

Hey man, I'm nobody to judge.

I think originality is awesome. Whether anyone else likes it or not, he did what he wanted.

I say thumbs up for finishing a radical project.

Yeah I can appreciate the personalization factor but it just seems to go against what a buell is like if someone wanted to change the sound of the stock pipe and make it quieter. When you start changing the character of a bike what are you left with. You might as well just build your own.

Sad thing is, you can probably replicate that bike and do it yourself for less than what he is asking. [down]

As a matter of fact, I am 90% positive its a member on here. My girlfriend has found it on here before, because she had to show me that it has a crocodile windshield.

To each their own, but almost $23k is alot

I like the green look.it might be fun in a straight line for a minute or cruising for bimbos @ low speed@ daytona or vegas-
To each his own, someone put a bit of tlc into it-
Personally, it's not much of a Buell going into your first corner,& the price tag & riding style is for someone who rides a harley-
Imagine what you could do to your bike with that kinda dough!
I'd have enough left over for an mv agusta!
LOL!::p

Or a Traverston V-Rex or A Lazareth moded XB12R.

I think a person could buy a xb12r and have that made for under $10,000. No the person isn't a member on here, it's jut been posted before. I think that is about as pointless as peters cow kite.

Would someone please explain this to me...again. Why in the hell would you take a perfectly good bike, be it a Buell, Busa, ZX-14, whatever, and do this to it?
Any modern, **** even 10-15 year old sport bike is way better a bike than you are as a rider, so why the hell screw them up ? [confused] Wayne

It's all about looks, pure& simple- like I said:cruising for bimbos...
I apreciate artistic freedom-wich sometimes has nothing to do with common sense,ya know.

My God bro lives in Tampa and down in FL a lot flat straight roads and brideges. So the cruising is def an influence down there. Then I heard the same thing on Superbikes on Speed so I guess its a reason and a market.

To each his own I know a ton of people dislike what I have done with my bike even though I have used all stock components, minus slipping the forks. Also mine sit the same height as an Scg so in my eyes it will handle or does handle just as good as an Ss which is lifted in the eyes of motorcycles.

I like the stretched look but functionality does play a role at some point or another. I can still hit the corners hard with my bike and keep up with all my fellow local riders on their R1's, R6's, 1000RR's, blah blah, but once you throw on a 12" stretch and 300mm tire you lose it all. I also give him props for being an individual sort of even though the stretch is not an "IN" thing much anymore.

But in the end it is way to pricey.

Nope i am actually the guy who posted this bike from ebay. Its under "custom bikes" This a different bike and I definitely like it more since it keeps the Firebolt look. (wheels)

Xtremelow: how did you get your firebolt as low as an scg?!
Looks like you put a lightning rear end on..

I slipped the forks and put on the Ss Swing Arm, with the new backet which all together dropped the bike 2"

Here is one of the front, hasnt moved since I slipped them. Not the best but you can see the top sticking out.

nice job, I think I could benefit from a similar mod-
Dropping my 12r a good 1&1/2"+ would do me wonders-
I'm pretty good on the stock set up,but I know it would be the ticket a bit lower..

I have an extra Scg rear shock for sale if your interested and slipping the forks only requires the removal of the slip ring under the upper triple tree and loosening the bolts.
