I ran over a small wirey piece of metal last night. No thicker then a needle. I believe the tire could be fixed from the inside, but can't figure out how to get the back tire off the bike. I tried doing it last night with no success...:( I couldn't get the bar out that the tire rides on.
Any suggestions or info on this would be great. Thanks!

to get it fixed properly, you need to get it vulcanised...
but it's your safety [smirk]

No idea what vaulcanised is?
Either. I have decided to just go with just getting the back tire off the bike and take it into the shop to have a new one put on. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a tire that is good for longer distance. I have 4000 miles on this one. Just wondering if they make a tire that is more suited for it.

Could anyone suggest a good price to get the tire replaced? I'm thinking somewhere around $200. Is that to low?

i had my rear tire replaced for $130 at a sportbike shop. that was for the stock pirelli diablo mounted and balanced.
the Hardley dealer quoted me $200.
call around.

DAMN!!!!
$130 would be nice. Not around here though. I just called around and the cheapest anyone would do is for $45. That is if I brought in the bike with my own tire. Which I was thinking about doing.
I typed in the tire specs into ebay and came up with this.
SHINKO 180/55-17 005 RADIAL TIRE $107.95 "free Shipping"
Michelin Pilot Power Rear Tire 180/55-17 $124.99 "$15.00 shipping"
It isn't letting me do the links so these are the tires I am looking at off of ebay. First one is cheaper so I am wondering if it will work on my bike. The second one I am fairly sure it will work, but it is more expensive.
Thanks guys!

Alright, just took the bike in the guys said it wouldn't be a bad idea to change my front tire and my front breaks as well. Any recommendations for either of these? Also, how much would front breaks be?. I have a service manual on the way, so I should be able to do it myself.

If the dealer has to change front and rear tire, may as well have them throw the new pads in. I don't believe they will add much time to the bill.
