I posted this elswhere as "Frankenbuell." I didn't want to put it in either the 1125R or CR sections, because...I didn't want anyone to miss it.

Interesting concept. What I find even more interesting is that magpul is a firearms accessory company. I can't figure out why they'd be building concept bikes.
Either way the bike looks cool and magpul makes great rifle magazines.

Lame show bike. I rarely like these custom buells because they always try to give it some crazy look which is always a fashion over function. Did anyone notice the radiator lines running by the steering up to the front of the bike? How not practical is that and how many leaks are going to be had. That front end must be heavy! One thing I do like is the rear swing arm. That is pretty cool! They did a lot of relocating things from the tail to who knows where. That is kinda cool. But all in all, this is a show bike and I'm not a fan of show bikes.

I dont mind it other then then front end. I agree with Dave about the rad being up front.
I'd like to see someone do it with maybe one large rad mounted traditionally on a cr.

What is with all these companies making these "concept" bikes with the huge front forks? Is this some new technology that is supposed to work better, because I think they look like crap!

After looking at it more I understand. There is some sort of linkage that attaches to the trees and must be some sort of shock behind the rad. How could this be superior to the traditional setup though? Just for looks?

I can't imagine that it is. Isn't that the same setup that some old springers used?

The front end suspension looks like a variation of the Norman Hossack "Duolever" style of fork used on some BMW's.

Duolever fork (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_BMW_motorcycles#Duolever)

It's an attempt to overcome the one inherent flaw with traditional forks. (they are very strong in compressive load, but relatively weak in torsional load, when you hit the brakes, the front wheel wants to bend the forks backward). The Doulever is a complex design with it's own issues so it hasn't really caught on.

I would like to see that seat frame and exhaust pipe put on a CR though... now THAT would be a BAD ASS bike!

I really dig the tail/tank piece! I may see if my father can fabricate a similar unit![up]

Yep. It's a cantilever setup that BMW likes to use. The benefit is that the front end won't dive under braking which is good as it doesn't upset the chassis for handling.

I found that thing late last night, so hadn't thought through it much. I agree with the OP that a CR with a conventionally mounted radiator, that exhaust, and some of the other styling licks would be pretty evil. The Hossack fork is neat, and better looking than BMW's, weight might be an issue.

But, it's all vaporware, eh?

Very interesting bike ,looks like a fun spin. I love custom buells, though some of the components are kinds ugly on this one.
How does it handle on the track?!

BMW sells that Girder or Control arm front end as a $5000 dollar option on the K1200 bikes. A control arm instead of telescoping front fork has advantages. Look it up.

Rad bike. My MagPul ??? Really the same company?

Found some more info looks like they will be possibly making a limited for sale run at these if there is enough interest. Also the design apparently drops 50lbs of the wet weight and they say after some experimentation the radiator placement had no ill affects on the steering...

Most complete article I found so far:

That thing looks tiny with everything off it, or the rider in that pic is just huge[smirk]

Also note the production model doesnt have the same light, and the direction of the radiator pins looks to be a half ass job at a grille, other pics show a better view which shows some depth behind it.

I would pimp it for a bit then sell it to the highest bidder:p

Here is another action shot

The ronin is an interesting design-
I think a third party like BIKE magazine should get a hold of it & really tell us what's up...
Asthetics are so personal, thankfully. But performance is king.

Pods are just a referance to the radiator scoops on the 1125 R's and CR's[up]
