Hi all. I'm looking to buy an aftermarket windscreen for longer rides on my 09 XB12R. Which would you recommend--double bubble or the touring windscreen. I'm worried that if I get the touring windscreen all its gonna do is redirect the windstream into my helmet. Whereas with a double bubble maybe I could duck below it?

I have the 1125R dark touring windscreen. Good and bad. Good cuz it looks cool (like a jet fighter) and it deflects the wind, rain, ect off me way better. Bad cuz with the wind not pushing on my chest, my arms get tired faster. I'm looking into bar raisers now.

I put one of these on my '04 'Bolt and love it.. as tall as I am I was unable to really get down under the airstream with the original Windscreen on it. This one lets me get almost completely under the airstream and at worst, diverts the wind to the upper 1/4 of my helmet. Buffeting, cause by air hitting too low on the helmet (chin bar or below) is virtually eliminated..

It's called the Buell Silver Fire Windscreen (now discontinued... but still available if you look around)

Ironmachine has them for $80

I have a zero gravity double bubble and I really like it. It really throws the air over me

There is a note on american sport bike about double bubble windscreens making a porabala and burning a hole in the dash like ants in a magnifine glass. Anyone ever seen this?

I have a Zero Gravity Touring screen in clear. It works great!! I got it because all the local Buell teams where using it and its easier to tuck down behind. Looks good too!!

Parking just right and the angle of the sun hits it just right so I make it a habit to park with the rear of the bike to the sun

I love my Zero Gravity double bubble. But they will not fix your melted dash bezel. Don't park your bike with the back to the sun. The sun reflects on the INSIDE of the screen focusing on the dash. Not the sun passing through the top. Wind protection is way better than the stocker.

My double bubble is great but it did melt the crap out of my cluster, like everyone else says...make sure u toss a rag or a glove over your gauges when u park it.

I think if you ran that past the guages on the inside of the screen it would block the sunlight. You wouldnt really notice it on the dark smoke color, and its a hell of a lot better looking than a melted gauge. Insurance in case you forget to cover it with a glove, or you have an expensive pair that you don't want to leave on the bike.

If your preference is the Double Bubble version, a simple fix for the dash-melting problem is to take some light steel wool and rough up the inside of the screen (the side facing you). A light buffing application is all that's needed to break up the shiny, reflective surface, and will keep it from acting like a mirror. It's not noticeable at all if you have the dark smoke shield.

Can you guys please post the places they are available for $80?

I've always planned on getting a Zero Gravity windshield (in amber, to retain the same color tint as my stocker), and have gone back and forth between the Double Bubble and the Touring, but I have to say I've more leaned toward the Double Bubble. I've known of the issue with the sun reflection melting the dash, and know I need to be cautious of that. I did a custom fairing lowering mod, and I'm afraid the Touring screen would take it to a height that would kind of defeat the purpose of that mod.
