G'day Guys

Looking for an exhaust. Something affordable.

I want to improve the sewing machine type noise that the bike currently have however I want to remain quiet enough to keep out of the local pigs sights.

ive heard the jardine is quite loud.

can anyone reccomend the quietest between the

hmf
fmf
saron
barker

a removable quiet insert would be good.

cheers

also anyone got any thoughts on the EBR racing ECU?

worth getting?

I havent heard most of them in person, I have the FMF on my bike, and it is louder, but doesnt come close to the D&D pipe in loudness. I have set off a few car alarms, but I dont think the sound did that as much as the vibration did.

as far as the EBR ECM, I have one of those too, and all I have really noticed with it is making the bike a bit less lean when you have an exhaust other than stock on it.

cool.

the fmf is at the top of my list atm. i just like the style and it seems to have the nicest "youtube" sound.

did yours come with the quiet insert? and are you using it?

how much did it set you back if you dont mind me asking im trying to find the best price on one that will ship to OZ.

Cheers
Ben

Seems a shame to run a cork in a nice free flowing exhaust system! The FMF dose have a quiet insert, If you look in the cr section I posted up some pics.

well ive since found i can buy a HMF pipe and a K&n filter cheaper than the fmf... so my natural manly cheapness is going to head that way.

Ill probably also get the EBR ecu. i figure. whats a few hundred bucks more if it means its gonna run right.... hopefully it dosent surge as much at low rpms after all this

well ive just ordered the HMF + K&n just because i could get the both of them cheaper than the HMF.

Ill see how loud it is and then maybe make / buy a quiet insert.

Im just trying to buy a USB->ecm cable now and then ill be buying the Ohiosportbike tuning software

You wont regret it! the OSB tuner is bad ass!

i just ordered the software... i cbf waiting and theres only 1 that should go with aust delivered models. lol. so lazy.

Im pretty happy with the price of everything.

the osb seems to provide allot of functionality for less price than a generic Power commander would that you would not be able to change the tune without a dyno tech.

BTW buying from over your neck of the woods (even with delivery and dodgy paypal conversion rates)

I got the pipe + k&n + OSB tuner for $800AUD.

in Aus the RRP for a jardine alloy slipon (the cheapest one) is $1199 AUD but can be found for as little as $6-700. still. its allot of kit for the money.

FMF with insert sounds like your best option by the way. I love my Jardine and pitty the people who have to ride behind me cause they cant hear their own bikes over my exhaust.....lovin it.

xtreme6669,

Can you clear the fault codes with the OSB tuner? I know you can with ecmspy, but since it is no longer available, that isn't an option anymore.

well i fitted up the hmf and k&n. the pipe was a bit of a bitch. i had to bend the header bracket to get it on lol.

at the pipe end it pretty much touches the swing arm (when on the sidestand) but when you sit on it there is plenty of clearance.

sound. PHWOAR, its not quiet. just straight through. im still having a play around with the FI.

started at 113 front and rear which felt amazing but a little weird right off idle. but 1 million times better than stock, no surging in first at 3000rpms anymore. then i tried 112 f/r and it felt a little worse. so i just loaded 114 f/r but ill test it in the morning as ive had too many beers

I have heard of fitment problems with the HMF system...

You might want to make a spacer or use a washer or something to shim out the muffler or it will wear thru the powder coat on the swing arm...

The tuner takes a bit of time to get just right.... keep going fatter and fatter until you feel it change for the worse then go back 1 or 2 steps lean

The only thing certain about aftermarket is modification lol. The Jardine on the 1125R luckily didnt need any BUT it was tough to get the leaks out where slip on meets headers. For some reason it wouldn't fit on the rear header all the way. Eh...i did what I could and it doesnt leak anymore.

Try those exhaust turnouts on ebay.Everyone seems to like em.Keep your wheels and bike clean and get some side exit noise.
