Hey I remember seeing a post saying that the R1 flush indicators bolt right up to the front signal mounts on the Lightning. There was even a link to some really cheap smoked lens LED ones. I've been trying to search for the post but am ending up wasting too much time at work. Can anyone help?

They weren't bright enough so I added strips.

It kind of sounds like brightness and visibility of these indicators is a pretty common issue. Has anyone had better luck with a specific brand of indicator? A lot of the ebay ones look pretty cheaply made and the pictures look unimpressively bright. So I wouldn't mind paying more for guaranteed quality. I just want to be able to replace those ugly stock Shake Weights (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4S3C4AC908w) with something a lot more subtle.

I ended up buying two sets from D2Moto for dirt cheap. They came with double-sided sticky tape to mount, but I ended up just using some Walmart crafts-section waterproof flexible adhesive, which worked fantastic and promises to be removable without any residue in the future if necessary. The ones in the front, I put on in the stock signal location. At the back, I got my tail chopped (for free!) by Randy of Hawk Performance, and installed the LED signals on the underside of the chopped tail, where the factory wiring holes are located. I'll try and post pics as soon as I can figure out how the hell to get them off my stubborn camera phone.
