I have a ecm from ebracing.com and my speedo is off a little bit at higher speeds my mechanic told me that it was probably due to the ecm. Has any body else had this problem w/ one?

I haven't gone for a ride with my gps since I put my EBR ECM in yet, but when I had my stock ECM my speedo would indicate roughly 5% higher than the speed indicated on the gps.

Keep in mind that EBR ecms were designed for the track. Tell EBR bout your issue.

From what I have gathered, the ECM's are for bikes that have a free-flow filter i.e. K&N, and a after market exhaust. By themselves, I don't think they serve much noticeable purpose.

As a side not, direct from the EBR racing guys, by putting in the ECM it eliminates the need for the solenoid resistor.

Aaaand, after doing all that stuff, it is still required to get your TPS reset. Good Luck!

I have read this to be common with the CR models because the ecu was designed for the r and the cr gearing throws it off....

yea i got a k&n filter and D&D exhaust. what does the solenoid resistor do?

It let's you rev the piss out of it. It was an sound issue that was restricted to meet noise standards when revving fast. The problem is it comes out of nowhere and is scary because it basically shuts your bike off for a short time. Like a speed limiter, but based on RPM acceleration.

If you've got the filter & exhaust w/ the ECM the only thing you need is to reset the TPS (throttle positioning sensor.) I was told that on the 1125cr's you can only do so at the dealer, not manually as other models are able to. I hope it's as simple as that. Make sure to share once you figure it out. I have a aftermarket exhaust & will be going your route pretty soon. L8tr!

You can do it yourself, simple as

Ignition and kill switch on, wait till engine check light goes off
Rotate throttle to full stop, hold for one second
Close throttle to closed stop, hold for one second
Repeat 3 times
Turn ignition off.

TPS should show 2 degrees at closed throttle [up]

ok so turn the key on select kill switch wait till lite goes off
turn to full throttle hold for 1 second
turn to no throttle hold for 1 sec.
then repeat 3 times for a total of 4 times?

then repeat 3 times for a total of 4 times?

Just 3 times alltogether [up]

Sorry for bring a old post back to life but I have the same problem with my 1125cr after putting the EBR ecm on it. My speedometer is probably 7 mph off while doing 80mph. I would like to get the speedo more accurate. How can I do this? I found this on ebay, has anyone used it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/BUELL-2008-2010-1125R-CR-SpeedoDRD-SPEEDOMETER-SPEEDO-CALIBRATOR-/251477093019?hash=item3a8d33ea9b&vxp=mtr

Thanks,
JP

I don't think you can adjust the speedo easily, but I'm sure it can be done with a speedo-healer inline type unit. Above 55 mph, my GPS verifies 5-6 mph slower than the indicated speed on my CR, and I have a stock ECM.
