Ok people. Here we go. Download this (http://www.froggypwns.com/buellpdfs/Cycle%20World%20-%20May2010%20-%20Demise%20of%20Buell%20and%20Barracuda%202.pdf) article. I'm going to go cry a little bit more.

Already have from Buelletin Board, and read the 13 pages. Damn, what can you say. I believe your right, all that is left to do is cry. What we have already is great, and better was on its way.

WOW

Nice right up. I guess I just don't understand big business.

Great article! Makes me wonder this - if all that was going on behind the scenes without the public knowing about it, can you imagine what Erik has up his sleeves right now? Can't wait for that no compete agreement to expire...

Definitely don't ever count Buell out. [smirk]

Why do I suddenly get the feeling (and hope!!!) that Erik is just biding his time with EBR, making parts and bikes for race only, waiting for that non-compete agreement to run out of time? I hope he gets backing and realeases all the bad ass designs that H-D held back and didn't have the balls to approve.

Once again the wound is opened-

But ya know, this is good at least everyone can read about this tragic story, the negative backlash on hd should be like a tidal wave lapping at their door!
And once agin ,Eriks passion &comitment shine thru

I'm very suprised that NO ONE mentioned the last sentence on the first article on (page48)..

AND in about a year his NON COMPETE AGREEMENT EXPIRES,
allowing him to build motorcycles again if so chooses.

SO there it is we all KNOW Erik BUELL has not and will not give up and when he finds the financial capitol to back him up we will see another Erik Buell (racing) street bike in the near future after he and him team designs one for the world to ENVY !!!!! yes they will ENVY IT ...

where do i send my down payment, and get my name on the waiting list.

I agree Native, I sent an email to Erik this morning after reading the article. I stated the fact that i was upset all over again with H-D and that I hope that the Pegasus will one day rise like a pheonix from the ashes. His response........"Thanks very much, Dusty. We'll never give up."

oh i guess you did . i didnt read though all of them you did mention it .... shooting my mouth off .before i read it all damn....
but to add to it i doubt that any bike in the future other than 1125RR or or 1190rr will have anything do with anything that was developed for buell while it was under HD rule, with the exception of (MAYBE) any major patents that erik has rights to . i think it will be a bigger better more bad ass design that blows away what was developed before. he has free reign and FULL CONTROL of all his Motorcycles nows when starts to build them , i think the financial backers we let him have that control knowing and seeing now what he make .I think we will see major change to looks power speed and more in my opinion.

Passion, determination, impeccable business sense - all clear assets held by Erik Buell. My money is on a deal between Erik & Bombardier, when the 15 month non-compete expires. The Buell name is unlikely to resurface, as that is the property of HD, and they want it dead & buried - too much egg on their ugly, corporate, bean counter faces already. BUT - I truly believe that we haven't heard the last of street bikes designed and engineered by Erik Buell and his loyal workforce. Hard to be patient for the balance of the non-compete, but something has to be in the works!

Nuage420b
03-27-2010, 03:43 AM
patience is a virtue. i bet the hd suits only ride special events. ****ing part time occasional weekend warriors.

03-27-2010, 05:45 AM

redliner172

I agree with Canuck. Erik has passion, but in order to really see his ideas through, he needs a financial backing. Bombardier was practically knocking down HD's door for the deal. good chance I say.

i would like to say i am wrong and **** i hope so but Erik isn't 35 anymore and i wouldn't blame the man for just saying i had a real hot poke at it but don't know if i can start from scratch anymore.I do not doubt the blokes passion and we all know he creates a great motorcycle in all aspects, radical fun and totally original.Dont forget that he had a great team to build the bikes we love and this isn't easily obtainable. Please Erik prove me wrong.

firebolt020283
04-04-2010, 11:01 AM
okey,

Take a look at the pictures on the EBR facebook page were he is sitting on the the new 1190rr and tell me that is a guy who looks like he is ready to throw in the towel. Looks to me like a kid on chistmas morning to me.

dustin_usmc1
04-04-2010, 11:23 AM
Right there with you firebolt!! If anything, I think this has made him even more determined. And now that people have seen what he is capable of, I think that when this non-compete order is up, he will get the financial backing he needs.

firebolt020283
04-04-2010, 11:29 AM
I think the biggest thing that will keep him able to get the backing to make a new street bike is keeping him in the magizines and keeping him in the motorcycle public eye. If the motorcycle media forgets him (the haven't so far) then investers may forget too.

I think the only thing that I don't have that EBR is selling is the bikes lol! my bike is completely modded. Anyway I would love to have that Baracuda! even my wife was saying DAYUM! :( and I don't think that EBR is gonna be forgotten that soon! especially since its still a pretty main stream company and it was winning races. he's Still Very into the Racing World! Lets just hope this 1190R is gonna get him up there even further! and maybe just maybe... he'll come back out to the public!

for assault with a motor vehicle as I shove a fatboy up his a**

I read this before, but it struck me a lot funnier this time.
------
I had waited to read this article because I prefer reading the actual magazine, but I got tired of waiting and printed it out. GREAT article, and very informative. Really a shame to read [u]just how close Buell was to producting a full line of bikes. I could have gotten way behind a middleweight triple (Was the codename "Sugar?" ). With any luck, the right backing, and an improving economy, I'm starting to think we haven't seen the last of EB and production bikes.

finally found the magazine and i feel sick to my stomach. when i was younger i always wanted a harley, i grew up around them. i will never have one in my garage now. if i want a cruiser i will have to build one

ok i'm a bit slower and not as up to date as the magazine owners here so lemme ask a couple questions. 1) whens the 15 month non-compete clause over with? 2) bombardier is the same company as polaris right? 3) what magazine? i barely found out about this no more buell thing in january.
a victory buell would be sweet but if you want a cruiser check out big dog

browland

1) Should be around Jan 2011 If I'm not mistaken. 2) Yes 3) Cycleworld

2) Yes

Bombardier is not the same company as Polaris. Bombardier Recreation owns the brands: Can-Am, Ski-doo, Sea-doo, Johnson Outboards, Evinrude, Rotax.

05-04-2010, 01:49 AM
thanks ya'll. I may have to get cycleworld since that seems to be the popular one. And victory bikes and can-am bikes are so freakin, cool a buell by them would be awesome and i'd per-order one fast.
big dog's closing down? that sucks. I like those bikes.
So the non-compete thing is jan 2011? thats way too long. I was kinda hoping someone would say august or something LOL well it'll gimme a chance to get a down payment together. I've learned sooo much on this blog
