Got a bad leak coming from my gear case...I read in the service manual about removing it...You have to take out the push rods to pull the case off!!??

Just to replace the gasket do I have to go through all that or can I just pull the cover off and slip in a new gasket?

Thanks!

The cams outer bearing support is the part thats leaking. Since theirs always a valve held open by the cam you must remove the rocker arms before the cam cover.

UHHH![mad]

Do I have to pull the motor in order to remove the rockers?

you shouldn't have too, I have had both my rocker boxes off the S3 without any trouble

Anyone got a guesstimate of what it would cost to have a shop do the job?

a lot, probably a minimum of 4 hours labor and potentially tons more if they choose to drop the motor and so on

Buy yourself a service manual and do it your self! Feels good to do your own work, and you won't have to worry about someone else messing up your ride!
