I'm not sure how long I can resist. Such a blast (not the Buell blast) to ride! The firebolt sure seems like it would be a great track bike. However, sneeking up on 62 I'm not sure it would be a good fit. Time will tell. I'll have to "borrow" my son's for a day and head to Alices or down highway 25. Then see how I feel the next day.

Wow, 62 uh oh, I hope your kidding, sixty two, it takes so long to type out. This would might mean I would have to sell my bikes. Listen kid, your still wet behind the ears, get the damn bike and enjoy life a little.

I went for a ride yesterday, I must admit the back was a bit sore last night but, woke up today and not sore anymore. I pulled the bike out for a ride this morning and it started raining, I can take a hint, so back into the garage it went, maybe later after it stops. As one gets older one just has to know his limitations ( quote from the great Clint Eastwood ) it's as accurate a statement that one can find when it comes to getting old.
Great advice here all around! Don't get the wrong idea. I have a street bike and an enduro. Not ready to let either one go at the moment. But a firebolt would be a good addition to round out the group. I think!
I am 62 and the bolt is my favorite ride my other bikes are a ducati 749s and a 900ss
I'm 67... still have my 2004 Firebolt, a 2001X1, a 2009 1125cr, looking at a 2017 1190Sx... hope you got a Firebolt, they are a blast even for us olde phartes.
The smile a buell gives you, erases years off your age.
55 here... My rides: Firebolt, Lightning, Ninja 636, Ninja 1000 and for days when my back needs a rest, a '19 Camaro SS. It does help to have a good chiropractor too! 😉
I did 6 or 7 hours on the Uly today. Needed a fix. But there was too much stop and go. I think the Uly is my favorite - at least favorite bike to have right now. (76)
I'm 66. What else is there to do. I go to the track bi-weekly. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I've been doing this stuff since I was 15. Lots of bumps and bruises but I'm still here. My wife gets it after 40+ years of putting up with me.

It is. The bus stop as they call it. My 2nd time there since the early '80s. Headed there again Monday.
On a recent visit to the cardiologist, the nurse took my blood pressure. It was like 110/63. Pretty good for an oldster. I said riding the scooter helps - She said her husband swears the same. Riding fills out the balance in life and makes you healthy (if you keep the rubber side down).

Once I saw a homeless guy with a leather motorcycle jacket pan handling. I asked him if he rode motorcycles, he said no. I asked him if he drank, he said no. I told him I was taking him home for a meal. He said, "won't your wife be upset you bringing a stranger to dinner?" I said it would be good for her to see what happens to a man when he quits riding motorcycles and drinking.

Unless you are going in a straight line it's all about the rider as far as performance goes.
What a great inspirational thread 👍🏻 Being 41 I sometimes find myself asking if I’m too old to be riding a 05 XB12r but then I come to my senses. It’s awesome to hear you guys still riding sport in your 60’s & 70’s, cheers 🍻 As far as a comparison there is nothing else like a Buell IMHO, it is a sporty on steroids with ridiculous handling and will give you a **** grin smile with every mile. You just have to ride one to get it...
