Thanks for posting that. Obviously we have all been inundated with nothing but COVID-19 blasting headlines in our faces, but thats a good watch.

That Joe Rogan interview is actually one of the most thorough, cogent, and intelligent discussions I've heard on the topic.
Would highly recommend it to anyone trying to sort things out amidst all the noise.

The main reason I posted the above video was the way the patient explained how subtle his Corona virus attack was, he barely knew he was ill until he had to come off the ship and almost collapsed. He also did not have all of the symptoms and the one's he did have he could barely notice, he also stated that he's going on 3 weeks of having the virus and that he knows someone that is still showing positive after 6 weeks !
So mostly for us old farts and you know who you are, pay attention to your health for the next few months.

so yesterday i'm in need of a few supplies for some little round-the-property projects and go drive over to Weaver's Hardware store in downtown Leola. all amish of course. fortunately they gave the middle finger to the pinhead governor of PA and have remained open. go in...grab what i need...go to checkout counter and am waited on by John the owner...he's on the left and daughter Carolyn on the right. we're chatting in PA. Dutch(German) and John says "so how ya feelin' John....got the flu yet?" i laugh and say "NO...and i ain't gettin' it either". the Amish don't laugh but he grins and smiles. he follows that up with: "John...i don't understand why Toyota would call this thing the Corolla bug. wouldn't that hurt sales?"
life is very different here....in a wonderful 18th century sort of way.

John, I toast your community's independence and way of life, and hope to visit one of these days. I pray that 18th century charm is also accepting of 21st century public health practices.
Talking with my medical friends in Seattle and Boston, as well as here in SF, our ICUs are starting to fill up with very sick COVID patients. This epidemic is real, and we need to do what we can to slow down the impact of the first wave. God forbid, but what happens when that very nice shop owner - elderly and at higher risk of dying from COVID - falls ill but can't get on a ventilator because they're all already taken?
You were a police detective, right? This is the medical equivalent of trying to prevent a street corner brawl from turning into a full-on city meltdown.
"Social distancing" does not (yet) mean a military lockdown. We just need to decrease social interactions to the point that we can slow down the spread of the virus so that our hospitals and our dwindling supplies can keep pace.
Hoping that this all comes to pass some time soon, and we can get back to the serious business of of enjoying our bikes.

Nebraska City is a bit behind more populated areas on the social distancing front. All our restaurants are carry out,drive through, or delivery only. Our bars are still open and only "suggested "to keep the number of patrons to 10, which they don't. Walmart is packed all day everyday as people hoard food and other supplies. Most people here dont have a clue how germs spread and are either doing nothing or panicking about the wrong things.
I haven't traveled out of town in about 3 weeks now and dont plan to. That's about the extent of my distancing. Of course I'm a bit anti social and never liked shaking hands anyway. Hopefully being in a small community like mine or John's will be a little less stressful, but I guess we'll see.
Ugh.
