I took my wheel off to take it to a dealer to change the tire on since its cheaper with wheel only...
NOW I CAN'T GET THE WHEEL BACK ON!?
I have it sitting in the caliper with the axle through the hub but i cant get it to tighten up right? any tips?
-
its reverse threads lust in case you forgot, lightly tap on axle to get it to seat, did you loosen the pinch bolts?
-
yeah i know its reverse...i start tightning it in with my socket and what not than i get to a point where i cant get it tigher...and i still have an inch and a half to go
-
how about the pinch bolts?i did mine last night and had to tap the axle lightly with a hammer.
-
yeah the pinch bolts are all the way loose...i got it to thread all the way but now the rotar and pads rub when its supposed to spin freely...i know sometimes they will rub a little but it barely spins....
-
C. Compress the front suspension to make sure it is
free and not binding.
in the service manual..what does that mean? take it off the jack?
-
did you loosen the rotor or remove pads?if so check alighnment of pads and rotor.i put new pads on mine when i did the tire and it dragged also a couple times around the block and all was good.
-
nope i left them alone...dont have the money for brakes yet and they are not that bad...guess im gonna have to throw the buell in the truck and take it to my local HD
-
yes on off jack compression.if you loosend the rotor theres spacers under bolts that are rounded on one side and square on the other rounded side goes towards rotor and make sure they are seated properly.
-
i didnt touch the rotor either...
what do you mean yes on off jack compression?
