i see how the S1 frame neck is different from the X1. I needed to cut the bottom headlight bolt hole off the upper because it interferes with something on the next and does not let you turn.

Interesting build , Id just like an S1 , had an M2 and sold it and got a Firebolt , I was toying with doing the S1 tail conversion on the M2 when i had it , but would really just like to find a good S1 now in its own right , Ill keep my eye on your thread to see how you go with it :)
Thanks! Thats the good thing about the way I have done this imo. It would be just as easy for me to go back to the factory S1W. Everything is bolt on except for the mod to the headlight brackets. But those are just standard S1 stuff. I dont ever plan on selling it. I bought it to keep, mod and enjoy!Quote:

It looks like my M2 is going to have something similar to what you are talking about. It looks like 2 pieces of round stock are welded to the front of the steering neck.Quote:

Red cool looking bike. Hope mine turns out half as good
Thanks! I'm sure it will, this one has taken me a year. If I get frustrated I just walk away and come back to it.Quote:

I was actually going to try and use a set of clubmans that I had from a cr. But I decided that was going to be too much of a PITA. Their would be no way to mount the gauge cluster. So I decided to put the clubmans on my CG and take the crossroad bars off of it and put them on the S1.

The fit great! They turn lock to lock and clear the manta tank.
Next is the gauge cluster. Its incorrect and has been bothering me since i bought the bike. The speedo is supposed to be the lowest gauge on the left. Someone had swapped them around for some reason. Easy fix though!

Basically all I have done from here is test fit stuff before I tear it all back apart for final assembly. I also plan on doing the XB rocker box swap.
