I have various styles of bikes including supermoto's, motorcross and touring bikes. The big triumph trophy bikes are heavier and faster than the buell and don't chew bearings. (get ridden in same...
bearing in mind, I own 30 motorcycles of various years, i have never had a bike that chews through wheel bearings like the buell. I have also not seen any vent holes or anything in the buell wheel....
me and the old man have been brainstorming ideas and we are wondering if the centre of the wheel is sealed. when the wheel gets warm, as it cools it's drawing moisture through the bearing seals.

Bit of follow up on the brakes. 4 pot rear is brillant. just right for town use, but nice power when you need to slow down in a hurry.
Got the ebr 8 pot fitted up front with a 19 x 18 radial...
I must be one of the werid people in the world that like good brakes both front and rear. I like nice progressive brakes that are not like a switch. No point having good front brakes and mediocre...
Been riding the bike to work and the new caliper on the back is working flawlessly. you can rest your foot on the pedal and feel the initial bite, then just ease on the pedal. very progressive. ...
Been out for a few short runs to bed things in and it's getting better all the time. i prefer to use my back brake while riding in traffic. I did try swapping out the pads on the rear for ferodo...
Finally got sick of the crap wooden feeling rear brake on my ulysses. Read up on the common "hidden" brembo caliper upgrade but wanted matching nissin calipers.
Was looking on ebay and managed to...

Check the pictures, The cans are not pointed at the rear tyre, They are angled out from under the bike and around the tyre. It's not my first rollercoaster regarding exhausts.
