The Sport Classic intrigues me - don't know why... all that retro look in a modern bike is pure class! I do read horror stories though about the ergos, low clip ons etc, but what the heck! ...
So, I put my XB9 back on the road today! I bought a Red Honda 1000 Superhawk last year and had the Honda on the road since April (Canada - remember?).
To be honest, I had the Buell on Kijiji, coz I...
My bar end mirrors were $20 on e bay. Work just fine...
North of Toronto and it's finally above freezing! More salt on the road than Bonneville so need rain to wash the crap away. Hope to be ridin by the end of the month!
Apparently the tie downs are to stop or reduce wheelies off the line...cos the forks won't unload when you nail the throttle.
There was a thread on the VTR forum about drag racing and the tie downs...
Hey Meetch, glad the bars work for you! Enjoy!
Hi Meetch! I understand why you are cautious, but there's no need to worry. Think about it...the stock bars are thin wall chrome tubing, and they were fitted at the factory. If there was any sign...
Take a 1/8th drill and drill the holes. That what I did last year with my Renthals on my 03 XB9S...no problem.
If you file off the nipples the controls will eventually spin on the bars.
Your...
That's a knockout colour scheme! Welcome - nice ride!
We got 8 inches of snow north of Toronto today so I know how you feel...can't wait for Spring!
Hey Guys, I'm up for the meet!
Cortez, I had a Kawa 750S before the Buell...you're gonna love the difference! Buell has way more character and grunt. Welcome...;)
Count me in, Fresh Rida...
XB9S with race kit (the bike, not me!) - near Markham / Stouffville. Call me when the snow goes!
There's website called www.dragtimes.com I think the Buell is on there....
You know the one thing that amazes me about my Lightning is the handling. Tipping in means just a nudge of countesteer...I use this technique rather than just leaning in...the Buell's reaction makes...
Arby, congrats...can't ride coz of winter? You must be in Canada, like me? Minus 10 tonight north of Toronto, and minus 47 yesterday in Yellowknife.
Finley..."But seriously, cold is no reason...
Congrats Mulligan, that's a bloody great lookin' bike. You're gonna LOVE the Buell..there's nothing like em. When I learned about the (temporary) demise of Buell, I parked my Lightning and got...
Bar ends work OK IMHO...and as for vibes, I don't really see a problem (scuse the pun!). Seriously, no big vibes (through the bars) on my XB9...
I ride mainly country roads (Canada) so don't do...
I found a pair of bar end mirrors on e bay for about $25 and they're just fine! Had to reduce the mounting lug diameter when I fitted my flat Renthals last year (to go in to the bar end - smaller...
Lovely bike man - good choice and welcome!

I'm impressed by you guys on the forum...I thought posting a Jap bike on here would have me trashed and slated, but instead I find enthusiastic comments towards the VTR. Nice!
Glad I kept my Buell...
Bolt,
I agree that Ducati has done a great job in branding their bikes....and their marketing works. I drool over their bike's image in the press, but when I get into the showroms the bikes just...
+1. The best? HD? Ducati? What's your thoughts?
Yeah, everyone complains about the small gas tank - just 16 litres....so 200 kms or 125 miles between fill ups. Ouch! You can drive for three days in Canada and not see a gas station! LOL
Thanks Dave - just looked and saw it too..I see he said thanks to HD. That must have been hard to do....
