Oh yeah, Twin Motors in the Netherlands can supply a Wilbers shock and can customize the length somewhat. I might try that if i can't get an Ohlins to work.
I have been through this, it is still a work in progress. On my stock 06 with factory low seat, I was on the very tips of my tiptoes at a stop. Manageable but i did tip over a couple of times. After...
LOL good times. I'll have to try that.
I tried Plexus today, seems to work pretty well. Just on hard plastic parts though.
BTW Cooter, what's wrong with Armour all and what do you suggest instead to make the black plastic look new and shiny?
Amen Cooter.
thanks again Cooter. Very informative (and entertaining) as usual.
Hey Cooter, sorry for hijacking the thread, and to continue from your comment on the Uly page, why would the maps disable closed loop, and how do you enable it so that the ECM can compensate for...
Sheesh, I was talking about Amal Concentrics. You guys are way above my paygrade.
Thanks Cooter. Think i get it.
Thanks Cooter. I thought that the reason for disabling closed loop is to prevent the AFV going back to stoich which leans out the whole map and defeats the performance benefit of any re-mapping. But...
BTW, planning to go over all the grounds ASAP and yes, picking up the pump on Thursday.
Thanks John. was waiting for you to chime in! The bike came with the Buell Race ECM installed and stock exhaust. Was told it made no sense with stock exhaust. so installed standard ECM and discovered...
Good advice to just check the intake seals again. So finally some sunshine and close to 60 degree temps. took her out for a little ride to warm her up an test those seals. Every time i get on this...
I think that is one of those "if it ain't broke don't fix it situations". If they are OK, good chance of making them worse.
Did that last year, they seemed ok. forgot to mention the bike is stock except for the K & N and ventilated airbox.
2006 Uly. Wanted to check AFV before getting an aftermarket muffler. Reading is 109.9% on rear. I know + - 10% is ok but that is close to the line. I do have a K & N filter and a few extra holes in...
I'm no expert but i have been doing some research on the various fork setups in relation to lowering my Uly. The online specs show that the 09-10 SS forks have about 1" more travel than the standard...
Not to argue with all the reasons not to use the muffler as a jacking point but I was on the Drummer website (again) and he does claim you can still use his muffler for jacking. The bike. Off the...
Hey Cooter, thanks for the info.
Thanks Cooter. I like being able to jack the bike up on the muffler. Partly due to space arrangements in my garage but it makes it easier to work on suspension especially rear. Plus for winter...
Hey Cooter. Saw from older posts that you had a Drummer previously. I'd appreciate your comments on the Drummer vs. Buelltooth as i am considering both. Thanks.
I have a 30" inseam. could just manage my Uly X with low seat on tiptoes but fell over a couple of times when trying to stop on uneven ground. could no longer manage after tearing my achilles tendon....
BTW, pretty sure an SCG shock won't fit. You need one from another long swingarm/large frame model: XB12X, XT, SS or ST.
do you have clutch and throttle cables and front brake line?
