They are probably the ballasts for the HID lights.
If the ECM is already damaged, moving it around won't help much.
I have the same bike and installed a plastic block near the front of the ECM, so the seat hits the block instead of the ECM. Try...
This link shows how to modify a less expensive fan from the same company that made the Buell fan:

I have noticed with my power tools that use lithium batteries, when they get low on charge they just stop working instead of just running slow when low on charge like the tools with NiCd batteries....
nicholas900 can you please give us a link to your f100 build?
I had this problem recently and just adjusted the idle to 1000 RPM when it is warmed up. No problem with the idle when cold or warm since.
The following thread has a good discussion about...

Is it possible the engine is somehow mounted too far back in the frame?
King Kenny Roberts raced that bike in the 1983 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. He finished the year 2nd behind Freddy Spencer on a Honda NS500. Great racing back in the day on those 2 strokes...

Please post up when you get to building
I have the NAPA battery, also. It is made by East Penn Manufacturing Company in Lyon Station. Pennsylvania. It has 2 years on it and still doing what it's supposed to.
It's crazy how inexpensive Buells are. A year ago I paid $3800 for my '06 Uly with 25,000 miles. It included luggage and a box full of spare parts. Not a thing wrong with it, except it needed new...
FXR Harleys from the 80s and early 90s can be had on the cheap. Mr. Buell worked on designing the FXR when he was an engineer for Harley-Davidson. They are known to be one of the best handling...
Wish I could bottle up some of this Florida sunshine and send it to Julia.
Check to see if the nut on the front sprocket of the the primary is loose. I had this happen on a Harley I had and it made noise like you describe. The nut has a very large torque spec.
Very nice. Gotta love being able to work on them with AC keeping things cool.
Back in Black! Looking good! Bike must love being allowed inside.
Shipped. Tracking info in PM. Post pics when mounted.

It's in good shape other than light scratches and bug guts
Let me see what kind of condition it's in. It's in a box of parts that came with my Ulysses. The PO liked to change from orange to black and back. I just stick with the orange.
I have one. I can send a pic when I get home.
