Glad it sounds ok. It's good you backed up the full stock eeprom image as a backup. If any other problems, do the following.
Create race maps
1) open race eeprom
2) save race maps

I'd change the plugs first thing. They're notorious for fouling, especially if it starts and stalls a lot. While you're in there, you can check for vacuum leaks.

The FZ8 looks like it's down 10tq and up 5hp from the Buell. From what I gather, it's a little quicker, but not notably.
