Did u try checking all ur electrical connections to make sure everything is tight? I had a problem like that with my old xr400 ended up being a bad plug wire that was arcing out. Good luck

i used the DEI brand exhaust wrap from autozone...looked great when i was done. i did not use the coating just left it bare. took it out for a quick warmup ride and smelled somethin funny,pulled over...
