Pump can be pulled out without removing frame or other work, but you need to rotate the pump 180 degree so the hoses and pump can turn enough inside the the frame. Also needs a bit jiggling...

That really bad noise was from belt guide. Belt was tensioned against it, when it is supposed to only limit belts wiggle on the longer side.
