So what all has to come off to do drive gear? Rocker box cover then rockers? Can push rod tubes stay in place?
I keep following the procedure.. keep getting same results. Before I thought it was due to the intake leak.. but now that is 100% fixed with the flange upgrade. Tested and confirmed after to make...
So that's what you guys think about my 04 with 42k miles on it? I've never inspected the oil drive gear.. have always known it "could" be an issue. I wanna know how many ever had the drive gear...
Flanges solved my problem. I did have to take a 80 grit sand wheel, not a drum, on my dremel to the bores in order for the flanges to fit the manifold. Once I did that a few times they slid on...
How much are these gonna run? Rough estimate an don't say oh Idk. You got to have an idea of how much they'll be
If anything I'll use sealant on the manifold itself to seal against the o ring if I have to
Used the james with hylomar. Installed coil bracket bolt, not snug but just to hold the alignment then made sure seals were centered an snugged bolts a lil at a time evenly. Flanges are correct...
I'm not arguing about anything. I just hardly can see how the throttle body is the issue. More like the junk design overall is the real issue.
How is the entire intake the problem? The barrels are round an not oval.. so explain yourself
I can't for the life of me get these intake seals to actually seal. At this point I've come to the conclusion the flanges are warped. Trust me I've tried everything. Grease, silicone, I've been...
With the James intake seals do the flanges still get tightened down to the cylinders? How do you guys do yours? I ordered new seals and when I go to tackle it I'll use your advice
I'll tell you what right now, I've done the intake before the top end gasket set before. With the James gaskets I found you literally can't tighten them for them to seal. I barely tightened the...
Because I wanted a better answer than just clean it.. no **** I already did that. And used a skim coat of grease. Still leaked.
I'm not taking that chance. Type 2 is used for flange type seals and is resistant to fuel and heat. I'm dropping this motor for the last time.. thankfully all the more hard to replace gaskets...
On second thought we have versa chem type 2 sealant here at work, it's a non curing joint sealant. Gonna use that. Basically the same as that hylomar blue.
I'm gonna use some anaerobic sealer on the faces I think. Stuff works very well on everything I've used it on
How do you get this piece of **** design to seal? Just got my motor back together from top end gasket replacement along with new stator and VR. Charges correctly now but these junk intake seals are...
I want my spare bottom end 34 😏😂
Ok keep us posted. I just bought one for 200 beans from harley.. it hurt me emotionally 😏😂😂😂
How much are these gonna run $
I've got one to experiment on
I called my local dealer they're 50 cents a pop. Cheap insurance I suppose
Alright 34 I'll order new stator bolts. How much for your stator? How many miles on it?
Lmao. Why would the bolts break it's a stationary part? Snug with loctite will be more than sufficient. I doubt they need 200 lb ft of torque applied to them
Yeah I'd just loctite old bolts an run it
