That bike absolutely does not sound normal. Also, what is that whirring sound in the background? Is it the fuel pump constantly running? I'm afraid you'll need to do what was suggested and start from...

You can turn off the O2 sensor via ECMSPY.
You didn't say anything about the screw being sucked into the motor at the beginning..!! You could have avoided a lot of headache if you had not ridden the bike once the screw got into the motor. But...
Try American Sport Bike.
+1 on what OP said. I didn't know about the Wahlbro-VDO connection.
"people were saying to grind the opening bigger to make it more powerful,.."
That applies to the FW used on the Carb models not FI. As for puking, most people (including me) routed the breather...
A couple of things. I've never heard of a VDO Race ECM for an X1 so I assume you're talking about the Buell Race ECM. Now, it sounds like regardless of the ECM you have an intermittent spark on your...
There are a couple of ground points to start with: other than the battery cables, there is one "woven" ground cable terminating on the swingarm right where the rear hugger meets the swingarm and the...
I don't think the ECMSPY is going to be of much help to you at the moment if you are sure you have both spark and fuel and the check engine light did not come on. You can "test" the coils and the...
Got it. I take it you didn't like the Buell DDFI and converted to carb. I've seen a few folks who have gone that route with good results.
How about TP degrees? Does that increase with %? If so, then you're OK. If the bike idles fine, revs fine and accelerates fine, then the chances are the TPS is fine. Look elsewhere.
As far as i know, there is no place on the throttle body on an X1 to plug in the breather outlet. So I assume you are talking about the air intake snorkle if you have the stock air box. As for the...
The rev limit on the M2 is much higher than 5000 RPM - it is more like 6800RPM or thereabouts...
If you were doing 225km/hr (~140mph) in fifth gear, you probably did hit the rev limit so your tach...
American Sport Bike also carries several brands including OEM.
"I rejetted it a little richer and that took care of the issue."
FI bike no jets.
Make sure you either have a Race ECM or have Race maps loaded onto your stock ECM. Otherwise you are runing...
Sounds like your pressure and friction plates are stuck together after sitting for so long. You may need to take it all apart and do a thorough cleaning.
Just saw your post. Never mind my question on the other thread.
Could you give a bit more info about the Bub, where to get, how much? Thx.
Nice bike. What kind of header/exhaust system do you have? Never seen one like that before. Looks really nice. Could you post close up pictures showing both sides? Thanks.
You don't need a pully - You need the bike tuned properly...
I don't do wheelies so I need to be careful to avoid them in first and second...2000 X1.
Get one from Americal SPort Bike ASB.com. I think is is around $24 including two keys.
My suggestion to you is ride the bike in the stock form. If you are a beginner rider, the bike has way more performance than you can safely use. Now if you find the bike too "quiet", then you could...

There is a reason they call them "Floating" rotors. A small amount of play is absolutely normal. Check the FSM for the allowable amount of play. Sorry don't remember the figure off-hand.
My X1 has the same set up as yours and had the same symptoms and loading race fuel/timing maps solved my problem. There is really nothing the dealer can do about it other than selling you a Race ECM....
The setting are described in the Owners Manual along with a lot of other good information. On the X1, you can adjust the front damping and rebound suspension settings independently from the rear...
