Thanks for the recommendation. Popped the front cover off and yes, its caked in rust. Not sure I should try cleaning without taking it apart. WD-40 and a tooth brush?
Not sure what is safe to use on this. Looks like calcium build up as I had to store outside for a while... Thinking CLR, but don't want to ruin the finish. Anyone have ideas?
I dig it. Would help the knee for sure on long rides.
Just snapped the bit trying to take off the lower guard. Dammit!

Squid Gear. Let that simmer..
I got a lithium from Antigravity Batteries a year and a half ago ($200) in the middle of winter as my original gave out. Worked great, until next winter. No trickle charger as is shouldn't be...
Antigravity battery is the way to go. Way lighter, no need to trickle charge... My bike sat for 4 months and fired right up without hesitation. Oh yeah... Double the price of a regular battery!
Dear Battery Strap,
**** you too.
Justin
(Been riding almost 2 years without the strap. Just switched to Antigravity and there is a ton of extra space/storage now. I think I will go that...

Justin (JJsXB9SX). Hook it up!!!
I live in Parker CO and ride year round when its nice out. Sometimes I get no fan in the late fall/winter months. Bike fan only kicks on hard in the summer or right after a hard ride when the bike...
Update : I decided to just buy the new battery (based on past symptoms as well) and went with Antigravity... Damn that thing is light, and the cranking amps are way better. Fired up like she was...
So I decided to get myself a new battery. Went Antigravity.com and found an old coupon code for 10% off. Use code ADVENTURE at checkout.
Thanks guys,
Its probably time for a new battery anyway as it is still the original. I'll try the clean up and re-tighten first, but it looks clean (no corrosion at all) and leads feel tight.
...
Update - Used the jumper wire method and got error codes 16 and 34. Let them cycle three times so I am sure of the numbers. 16 seems to be battery voltage, but I can't find anything about error...
Nice! I'll try that too... My battery strap snapped about 1500 miles ago... I bought the replacement and haven't muscled it on yet...
Lunatic... I know your info is always solid. What the...
Jim, It's not the red oil light (changed 300 miles ago still golden colored, Mobil1 since brand new every 1000mi), and not the fuel light, which I am familiar with... I always run the bike until the...
Thank you. Gotta order the cable so it might be a while.
My engine light came on as I rolled downhill down the driveway... It almost stalled. Let it warm up about 4 mins, hopped on and took off. At first stop sign I braked hard and light came on. ...
Thats a steal!
Wouldn't the license plate flap around in the wind at high speeds if only bolted to the plastic belt cover? I'd go straight into the mounts for the cover itself.
And that pulley cover...just do...
Just called my Harley buddy with the news!!! He hung up on me...
Yeah man, F the bike, health is #1. Get better, then and only then should you slang the parts (and only if it is un-salvageable) When ready give some details of the crash. But first, Merry...
Dammit! Im gonna have to buy those. Just bought turn signals from Hong Kong real cheap. Everything is good, and they seem sturdy. Much less vibration Also bought some cheap bar ends and they...
