Just picked this up yesterday. I love it, now I just need to figure out if I'm keeping the black xb :D. You cant have too many buells. I put on a little over 200 miles yesterday and am very impressed...
I did mine that way because i had not chopped the tail yet. Almost all the strength is on the passenger peg bolts. If you unbolt everything attached to the tail it barely makes any difference as far...
The link I have at the top for the cases is the wrong one. those are way smaller.
These are the se-720 cases...
Looks really good! Should hold up for a long time.
Yes 700 + shipping for whole setup. Cases, racks, signals, latches, mounting hardware and some kind of reasonable priced black paint. powder coat extra.
If someone wanted the metal basket rack...
Sorry for the delay here are some pictures.

Let me know if anyone is interested.
Due to the lack of luggage options for the XB, last year I opted to build my own hard case luggage racks. I built a set for my SS and my girlfriends SS that has an S tail. I posted some photos in...
Glad your alright.
Since it was a back road and the guy was comfortable enough to be in the middle, chances are he drives that road often. Was it at a time of day he could have been driving home...
If the head bolts hold the jug on I would replace them just to be safe, although I tend to be paranoid. If the pistons look good (they should look fine at 12k) I wouldn't do them. But if you do...
I have about 3000 miles on a set of Bridgestone Battlex BT023 and I like them a lot. barley any tire wear maybe 2 mil and they perform very well.
You shouldn't need a timesert if you TIG weld and re tap. Since the threads will be new and not need restoring.
Let me look at some receipts and I will come up with a price. I will get some better pictures the bikes are in storage at the moment but i will get some detailed pictures this week.
You could try to fill the hole completely with the putty and then drill and tap it to a smaller size than it is current. That would prevent the chunk from being broken off, but you would be relying...
I use p.o.r. 15 products a lot, and the two part putty a few times. I wouldn't trust it at all for this application. It works best if you can have a thick amount of putty. I think it will crack...
If anyone is interested I built these racks for both the s and ss seat rails. The cases are attached in a way that a key removes them, they are seahorse cases. I used them on a 2500 mile trip and had...
I went down at about 50 mph at the end of last season. My riding suit and helmet took most of the damage but I am looking for a few parts.
Parts I need are:
Front fender black (hopefully...
It will say blue and the liquid is also blue. The blue locktight is the temporary for parts that can be removed again The red is for a almost permanent bond. I prefer the gel.
if you do go automotive base coat clear coat a good paint shop cab match the frame paint. get a touch up gun you can run then off of a small compressor.
for that job though I would do as...
+1 Don't use red.
The tail is an s with some 1/8 steel extensions. I made them with 3/4 wide by 1/8 strap steel they are about 1 1/2 inch long . It made the tail bolt right on, the seat is a pain to get on though.

finally she's all done. I ended up getting a second xb12ss and gave the red one to my girl. I built some seahorse case frames for them both and we are going on a 2500 mile ride on Tuesday. I will...
They look really good. do they vibrate allot like the stock ones?
+1 for locktight it its the only way to go.
my bad, thanks for correcting me.
I have never done a tps reset so i am not sure. But have you adjusted the idle with the knob thing behind the air scoop? I think it is related to the tps, maybe after you reset the tps the idle needs...
