Does the spacer ring go on the drive side? I assume it does because the brake rotor lines up.
No I can't see the ball bearings.
Yes, that ring on the left. Also, I don't have the two black washers on the left and right. What are those?
I bought the XB axle and bearings and wheel from St. Paul Harley-Davidson and had the bearings installed by them. The wheel and axle are black. I looked at the bearings when I got it out of the...

I recently had the right side bearing crap out on me on the freeway (avoided death fortunately) and so I decided to make the upgrade to the 2010 triple bearing setup. I got everything...
By the limit, I mean I don't think I can do anything else to make it sound the way I'd like it to and also function the way I want.
I have a Hobart mig welder. I also have access to a tig welder...
I get that. However I might see a hundred Harleys a day, several dozen sport bikes, maybe one Buell a month. I even saw an 1125 one time.
Went to Sturgis this year, saw thousands of Harleys, one...
I was really just looking for advice on how to make or find a slip fitting.
If I wanted a store-bought exhaust, I would have bought one. If I wanted to be like everybody else, I wouldn't be...
Which is exactly why I'd rather do it myself. Nobody cares about my stuff like me.
I don't see why not. $75 in pipes, $25 for a baffle, balance from my father's junkyard.
Not even close. I'm expecting to spend less than $100 on this project.
I do like the reverso, but I'd like to build my own. Also, not inclined to spend that kind of cash for something I wouldn't want to cut up.
So find a pipe that slips over the collector and go from there? Anybody know what size that is off hand? I'd rather have a stack of supplies before putting my bike out of commission for a few weeks.
Here's the story. I've modified my stock '08 XB12 muffler a number of times. I think I'm coming to the limit. Currently, it's essentially a U pipe from behind the valve to the back then back to...
It's not the stator that's the problem, the stock lights are 55 watts, if I am correct. It's that that HIDs have a much higher surge on start up, leading to blown fuses and whatnot.
I'm not sure, but on mine, the upper portion is about an inch higher, covering that engine mount point on the frame.
I ended up modding it with a Dremel. Not totally beautiful, but I got it done....
Yeah, did you read the post posted? I made it pretty clear that my scoop is different. I cant just carve a hole in the scoop and call it a day, or I'd have done it.
Does anybody know which brand...
Wind noise has been shown to cause hearing loss even in cars, example being of truck drivers having been found to have hearing loss typically in the left year. Ear plugs are a must if you're doing...
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I just received the cruiser peg kit, and my scoop is different, such that I'd either have to eliminate the spacer that puts the bolt head out above the scoop, or...
How am I going to convince my wife that I need Jager for my bike?
Hmm, I thought some Amsoil guys were over the top. Looks like Redline takes the cake today.
Oil pressure at cold is really irrelevant. Oil flow is the more important. We have an air cooled engine with roller bearings, with a high flow low pressure regime. High pressure and thick oil when...
You'll find I have only recommended one thing, strict adherence to the Buell manual in the case of the use of SAE 60 weight oil.
"The 'facts' don't matter."
I'm with Sagan on this one.
Redline 20w-60 has a 100C viscosity of 23. Amsoil 5w-50 has 20.3 at the same temperature. That's not a big difference.
Meanwhile, at 40C, Redline has 177 while Amsoil has 127. That's a huge...
