I have a 2005 800SS Ducati with a wet clutch :-) that clutch died at 15,000 KMS, I suspect I used the wrong oil.

Thank You for the verification. The clutch and associated parts all look great. I’m going to go over it all again with a fine toothed comb, but I’m most likely not going to replace the clutch shell
long time no see folks!!! I must admin I've been lazily getting my Buell interactions on Facebook. Facebook has its short comings and more than its far share of @$$ Clowns. There are some good folks...
I like to start the bike up, turn the primary adjuster in, until the engine starts to stall. Then I back out the adjuster a 1/4 turn. I get the biggest wrench I have and crank the lock nut as tight...
Welcome Back!
Yep... ^^^ works for me, blast style. I hoist up the rear wheel and manually turn the engine over in 5th gear looking for the tight spot. Adjust it there for a small 1/2 inch. No burnt fingers BUT...
Now it looks like cooter has all the toys! Boats == lots and lots of elbow grease
Sounds like you have this one under control. I stripped the oil drain plug on my Honda Accord. Hate that feeling when the wrench just slips.... it’s the feeling of a ****e day!
Haven’t stripped a...
Common guys, dude has been kicked/banned/ostracized for months and he’s still getting air time.
That said, my Buell and I have a love/hate relationship! I love them, and they hate me. I need you...
Nah traded that money pit for a garage full of Buells. Not a financially sound decision.
Cooter - an el Camino hauling a Buell. I like the cut of your jib!
I spent the first year of buell ownership adjusting my primary chain (previously owned Japanese bikes) because of the “terrible” noise it made. Best fix so far, aftermarket exhaust :-P
Swap till ya drop Baby!!! What’s better then one broken bike? Two broken bikes!!! Lol (the eventual outcome of non scientific trouble shooting)
Does the BUELL ecm have a limp mode? Like newer...
The AFV increases to address a lean condition. It’s adding 15% to 20% more fuel to. Compensate for a lean running engine. Excessive back fires during deceleration also indicates a lean condition. I’d...
And John is calling out bad grounds. All are very likely culprits. I’m still betting on a bum ECM :-P
OK it’s January in Ontario. I am suffering from PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome) I need all...
I wouldn't loose too much sleep about "PL 470 Exhaust Valve actuator stuck open" - disable it with ECMspy.
Have you visually reviewed the ECM (take it out of the bike) and verified it has no...
Best answers in order of likeliness:
SEAFOAM - price is right
FUELL PUMP - see Jon aka lunatic
BROKEN ECM - good time for a factory tune
Common, need some updates
With out any in-depth understanding of your Buells issue I’m going to shoot from the hip: cracked ECM, seat rubbing on it :-)
electrical issues will make you humble or crazy...
taking advantage of some downtime to move the X1 project forward.
- carbon fibre under tail tray and rear fender eliminator kit
- rizoma bar end mirrors
- finally stripped and polished the...
This issue is for an 1125cr but the pegs are originally from a firebolt. I installed a set of 2" lower foot pegs on my 1125cr without any issue. I was able to successfully adjust the snifter leaver...
When I'm not riding the Buell, I spend sometime with my winged she devils. They keep me almost as much on my toes as the 1125cr. I truly believe both the Bees and the 1125 want me to come to an early...
I agree with cooter. The ZTL/ZTL2 braking system may be marginally lighter than a conventional dual rotor system but the added weigh savings of the front rim MUST be considered. The dual Brembo...
I pulled my fork leg apart this fall, the right leg (the one with the big loopy round thing on it) and there was almost a tea spoon of grey goop in the leg. I had changed the fork seal a year earlier...
That will make me think twice when I ask the GF to hold the light!!!
I commute on an XB12XT. One word, STORAGE. The hard bags are great, the seat is perfect. The newer S3 has a nice seat but not as nice as the Uly. If you’re inseam challenged, climbing up on the Uly...
