Is there any chance the knocking could be from something other then the crank, like a timing issue?

Ya, it's the kickstand for sure. I appreciate it but i have a replacement coming that should be here in a day or so.

While replacing my wiring harness I've been stopped because I found the two wires the dealer "repaired," it turned out to be voltage regulator wires, and what he did was remove the plastic housings...
