In my opinion, that's what the Ulysses excels at - urban assault. Torquey engine, situp riding position (better visibility), pretty good suspension for crappy roads. Big bags for your stuff.

One data point for you - I just changed out my fan. The old one appeared to be the original. 2008 model XB12XT (fan also had a 2008 date code), 65,000 miles.
As mentioned above - it could have a bunch of liquid formerly known as gas in the tank. It may have 'soured', or at least lost the octane rating.
Down here on the Redneck Riviera the...
Unfortunately, no. I'll see about getting one today - we're getting a lot of Zeta spinoff rain.
Tbone- the ground 'lug' (#4, that is) is easy to reach - just remove the flyscreen. Access it from the front and either side. No need for removal of other pieces/parts.
The very first thing to do is check the ground leads at Chassis Ground #4. It is on the front of the frame.
There are four ground wires in two pairs (IIRC) there. While the terminals don't seem...
FYI if you are looking to replace the fan. It appears the original fan is not available. At least at the moment.
I just changed out the failing unit in my '08 with this one:...
Barrett - You are correct!
My old age striking again!
It appears the proper part number for the '08 - '10 XB's is 29971-08, which seems to have been superseded by 29900066.
Chuckski, I ordered my stator from Newcastle HD - not sure of their stock at present, but I seem to remember they had it to me quickly. P/N 29971-02YA.
How about vinyl wrap? A fairly durable, 'easily' changed solution...
Only issue to check other than engine/electrical is the rear wheel bearings (esp. right side) and the belt.
If the only problem you have is a 'hesitation', it sounds like the bike is in pretty...
I had a hell of a time with the 'barbed' style you reference, Cooter. I believe the OEM bits (having never seen them - the previous owner had the cables ziptied to the frame!) are the 'fuzzy'...
I've had very nice results with olive oil. Works best when the plastic is warm.
Clean it first with a stiff bristle brush and a strong detergent (like Dawn), dry thoroughly, then wipe it down...
And, look at the ECM and see if the connectors are properly connected, and that the ECM itself is okay.
Apparently there is an issue where the seat can press down on the unit and crack it. I'm...
+1 on the above posts. I've had my '08 since spring, and have found that I use the T27 a lot. I bought a t-wrench and an extra 1/4" drive T27 bit to supplement my toolbox. If you have the OEM...
Yep! Pipe still available, and the baffles were 'gently' pressed in. I left them proud so you can grab them and pull them out.
Joe, I feel your pain! I can't figure out how to attach a photo to a PM! Look at the 'Aftermarket Parts' thread at the top of the page.

I just added a photo to the 'Parts' thread.
Here is a shot of the belly of the exhaust.
Sure - PM me your email address.
joeharley, I have a 'SpecOps' muffler that I'm selling - look for the thread (in aftermarket parts). It'll wake the neighborhood if you pull the baffles out!

--- SOLD! ---
Selling the can that came with the bike. WAY too loud for me - I added baffles, but still didn't like it. I replaced this one with a stock can.
The one I'm selling has no rust,...
I bought a well-used '08 Uly that had a very well-used clutch lever. The pivot hole was egged out to almost the edge of the lever!
I bought another used clutch lever and perch off eBay. Cleaned...
Congratulations on the 'new' bike!
I just bought my first Buell, also an '08 XB12XT, about a month ago. Mine has had some trials and misfortune with Previous Owners - I've about gotten them all...
Roger the clear film, and thanks for the clutch cable adjustment procedure!
