Thread: how does ecm spy work?

    i know im about to seem ignorant but im new to this site and have been learning alot! but i dont know how the ecmspy works.how do i connect it to my bike? and tps? my bike is stock but want make some mods. im not very hi tech. please help the computer illiterate.

    i downloaded it but but not sure how to use it or even how to plug into my bike. you all seem so tech. adv. so this may seem elem. but gotta start somewhere.i would appreciate any help.thx...J

    first thing to do is go to www.ecmspy.com and download the manual v 2.0 and study it. You will need a cable for it to connect...you can get one of those from xoptiinside.com and various other sites for ~45.00. So after you have read and got the cable in hand...download the FDTI drivers that can be found in the ECM spy download section on this site...unzip them to the desktop...then open ecmspy and hook up your bike. It will ask you for the drivers....point windows towards the FDTI driver that you just downloaded and then restart your computer.
