downloads vary; could be charged a hour flat-rate or less if theres lotsa work in the shop.
the ddfi should be able to re-learn at those altitudes(given u have it remapped)
w/o the re-map the fuel maps would be to broad too learn just by riding.
Hello all,
I have been lurking for a few months, but now I have a few questions, so it seemed apt to introduce myself. My name is Nick and I ride a '05 xb12r (pics).
This weekend I plan on doing the breather re-route, and figured I might as well go ahead and open up the airbox. Currently my bike has a K&N filter and a gutted stock exhaust--I am pretty sure the previous owner had it remapped, but not certain. I know that with an open airbox and free flowing exhaust a remap is needed. Here is my question: does the fact that I live at 4600 ft above sea level and ride between 4600 and 9000 feet above sea level, have any impact on that requirement?
Also, how much would a reputable shop charge for a remap? TIA.

At the very least, get ECMSpy and put the Race EEPROM settings on your ECM by referencing the appropriate Race ECM. Also, you'll need a cable from Xoptiinside.com or Ebay. Dealers can remap or shops that utilize DirectLINK - also, there may be some on here that will offer ECMSpy assistance when the time comes. Or you could remap yourself with some studying up and Datalogging.
Oh, and Welcome to the Forum. :D
Excellent...thanks!
Just go on eric buell' site and by a programmed race ecm and be done with it for $250
I am waiting to see if I can find someone local to do it for me. If not, that is my plan B.
Either way youll need a ecm spy cable and the program to reset the tps with the idle backed out after the. Ecm install then youll have to screw the idle adjuster in till the recommended rpm.
