welll.. i think it took me about two weeks. But i only worked on it a few hours at a time in the evenings when i could spare.
As far as a pic with leds on, i will get one and post it in the next few days. Im looking into getting some wide angle leds (i think that would help a lot, mine have a very small viewing angle. i didnt think about it at the time but that doesnt work well went you want ALL of something to glow)

im not an LED expert at all.

that looks cool, what did you use to make the scoop?

    resin, fiberglass...?

i wouldn't mind making a right side scoop.

do you have a process of how you did this?

yeah, basically i used what i found laying around the house. haha, im cheap but once i get into a project i have to finish it. I basicaly just used aluminum trim flashing i found to make a patern (first pic), cut it, bent it, and riveted it. I used the left side scoop as kind of a pattern and kept going back to the bike and putting it in place to try to make it fit as well as i could. After the general shape was completed, yeah i used fiberglass resin and some mesh to coat it and make her solid. From there i used body filler (bondo) to smooth her out... even used some spot putty for the finishing touches.. primed and painted her.. and there you have it. Basically i just dove head first into it having no clue what i was doing or if it was even going to work.. but it works alright. Only thing is i didnt cut enough out for the exhaust pipe, now its melting my paint cuz its too close.. im trying to work that out and hold the scoop a bit higher. It is by no means a refined process, im sure there is a much better way, but for me, i enjoy working things out and the satisfaction of a completed job.:D
