the evo engine is well known for its longevity.
I had an 03 xb9s with 17k on it. Ran as good as it ever did when I sold it.
Original battery also.
Had to change the clutch cable twice but had nothing to do with the engine or transmission. It frayed up at the lever.
The guy I sold it to put 500 on it in the first week and had never ridden a bike before.
Engine is solid -but how was it treated mate?
BamBam (06)has a tick over 16,000 and he rides hard and often as well as commuting
no problems whatsoever
:)
Just over 7k here (bought last year with 700 on odo). This is my 1st bike ever (2004 xb12s). I did the 1k, and the 5k myself. She has only been in for a tire change. Not a single problem. I ride her pretty hard. MIGHT pay for the 10k. I am sure some bolts/nuts I can't see have rattled loose :) Easy to maintain with all the help I find on this forum
Well I feel better now about the mileage of the bike. As for it being treated, the guy says he has all the paperwork for the things hes done to it, as for how it was ridden the I don't know. Thanks to all.
Iv seen a Uly with 70K with no problems on Buelletin board.
9K on my 03 XB9S, no problems with engine at all just regular maintenance
